Emu Point Beach from the Pontoon in Oyster Harbour

Located on Emu Beach and Oyster Harbour, Emu Point is the perfect seaside spot. It offers the white sandy beach with a lively beachside vibe.

It attracts lots of visitors for the outdoor kids playground, restaurant/cafe/shop, swimming jetty, BBQ's, picnic tables and even local fish and chips is not too far away!

There are plenty of water sports opportunities. Emu Point is located a few kilometres north-east of Albany City Centre (see the City of Albany MAP). Emu Point is a rocky groyne with views over King George Sound and Middleton Beach from the northern end.The Oyster Harbour side however is completely protected and is a perfect place for relaxing with a picnic and having a swim thanks to the shallow, clear waters and excellent facilities.

The cool shallow water leads gradually out to the swimming jetty. Swim laps or gaze into Oyster Harbour and watch the pelicans glide over the water. There is plenty of Shade, and a triple tiered grassed area so everyone can sit comfortably with a clear view of the water.Foot showers for sandy feet. Emu Point enjoys views out to Gull Rock National Park. Emu Point is a lovely, family friendly location.

Emu Point is the western side of a deep channel linking Oyster Harbour with the King George Sound. Emu Point Boat Sheds is a boat harbour for vessels up to 20 metres in Oyster Harbour. The park has climbing ropes and an accessible birds nest swing.

Cross the peninsula onto the South Side of Emu Point and you'll find another beach at the very northern end of the beautiful Middleton Beach and swim in the waters of King George Sound. The rocky groyne looks directly across the channel at nearby Gull Rock National Park.

Emu Point is a wonderful place to swim, and in summer the sun warms Emu Harbour making it several degrees warmer then the other side of Emu Point on King George Sound.

A beach wheelchair is available with access to the beach, with the key located at the Emu Point Café.

There is so much to do at Emu Point, different areas to explore. Walk to the nearby Fish and Chip shop and maybe meet Percy the Pelican!

The 7km Middleton Beach Shared Path to Emu Point is a walk and cycle trail linking Albany's 2 stunning beaches.

This is well worth it! We tend to start at Middleton Beach and cycle to Emu Point, stay for ice cream and then ride back again. Dog Friendly.

The channels, which wind through the harbour, are constantly filled with boats headed in or out of the Harbour or up the Kalgan River which feeds Oyster Harbour.

Emu Point Channel is an active commercial fishing channel and swimming should be avoided at all times.
